Winter!: Prepare for holiday gaming!
Gothic series never really appealed to me as genre defining games. Arcania: Gothic 4 is another installment in a rather dark fantasy RPG. The story is bland and un-ingaging, the gameplay is ridden with strange bugs, and the graphics are rather bad and muddy. Even the achievements for this game are bad, featuring one where your character has to stay in bed for an out-of-game hour. The only thing that seems to appeal to me about this game is the setting and the grim atmosphere. I like darker fantasy game, and I saw myself enjoying the setting and grimacing when I actually had to do anything in it.
Also I should note that this game is fairly rich in content, but unlike Skyrim, Gothic 4 manages to spread itself too thin on same areas. Crafting, for example, is atrocious.
